After not being
able to sleep in yesterday it was refreshing to have a chance to sleep in. We
all met up for lunch in Buchman before we headed out to the State Capitol. Since
our tour wasn’t until 2, we took a walk to look at certain buildings and their
Architecture. My favorite building probably was one of the churches, not really
sure why I just like the design and the way it looked. After our walk we went
to the Capitol Building for our tour.
It was refreshing to be inside after walking
outside in the hot sun. At first I was surprised to hear that the building was
built by three separate architects. However after seeing much of the different
designs it wasn’t as surprising as I originally thought. The two things I loved
the most about the building was one the intricate design of the arches and two
how a lot of the building was not complete due to money issues. There were also
many other beautiful parts about the Capitol Building like the stairway and the
elevator. T
tour guide told a story under the stairs. She said how
one of the building designers, Sam, cursed the building with a demon in the
sculpture. At the mention of demon the supernatural fan girl in me was ready to
protect us from the demon, I had us covered in case of demon attack. After the
tour we walked around the fountain outside, we even all took a picture on the
yellow thing. Next we returned to the van to head to dinner at the house of an Alumni of Sage, Ronnie.

Ronnie
lived right along the Hudson so some of us had the opportunity to go kayaking.
I have been kayaking since I was younger so I jumped at the opportunity to
kayak. Unlike me Krista hadn’t been kayaking since she was younger so I didn’t
mind giving a few pointers. After Kayaking we all enjoyed dinner on the dock.
We then went inside to cool off, so we sat in the living room and all chatted.
After a while we had the chance to hear Ronnie talk about her experience at
Sage. At the end of our talk we all thanked Ronnie for inviting us to dinner
and letting us use her kayaks, and headed back to sage to put an end to our
long day.
